Hurricane Irma Changes Cruise Ship Routes

By ,   September 5, 2017 ,   Accidents

A number of cruise lines have been forced to skip Eastern Caribbean destinations due to the approaching Hurricane Irma.

Four cruises have adopted  Western Caribbean itineraries and now more cruise passengers are expected to visit Grand Cayman among other destinations.

Royal Caribbean altered the scheduled Eastern Caribbean itinerary for its Allure of the Seas on September 3 to a Western Caribbean.

Carnival Glory and MSC Divina were also rerouted to make calls at Grand Cayman.

Carnival Magic, Carnival Pride and Carnival Splendor made similar adjustments to avoid the storm.

Hurricane Irma is already a very powerful Category IV hurricane. Hurricane warnings have been issued for Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Antigua, Anguilla, Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis.
