Meyer Turku shipyard is currently more than doubling investments from previously announced EUR 75 million to EUR 185 million. The new investments include a new profile cutting line, new plate cutting line (both supplied by Finnish company Pemamek Ltd) and new panel line to the shipyard's steel halls.

The new investments will be ready by end of 2018 or early 2019 and are due to boost the steel production of Meyer Turku in order to fulfill a record-breaking order book that reaches to 2024.

Via the investments, Meyer Turku shipyard will have the world's most modern steel production facilities with laser-hybrid, digitally controlled welding technology. These investments are part of a long term plan to ramp up the production to 3 times the value the yard produced in 2014 when Meyer family took over.
