Luxury cruise brand Cunard announced it is adding a 4th ship to its fleet. The investment is part of the line’s ambitious plans for its future globally.

Carnival Corporation – the largest cruise company in the world and parent of Cunard brand – signed a memorandum of agreement with Fincantieri, Italy, to build a new cruise ship that will join the fleet of Cunard in 2022.

The as yet unnamed liner will join Queen Elizabeth, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2 as the 4th member of the fleet, the first time since 1998 that the brand will have 4 ships in simultaneous service.

The new 113,000 GT ship will carry 3,000 passengers and will be the 249th vessel to fly the Cunard flag since company’s founding (1839). It will also be Cunard’s first new ship in twelve years, since the launch of QE in 2010.
