Celestyal Cruises issues a statement on Crystal Collision

Celestyal Cruises issued a statement following an accident which happened earlier today, as Celestyal Crystal had a collision off the coast of Gallipoli, Turkey, with the tanker STI PIMLICO, registered in the Marshall Islands.

All 852 passengers and 382 crew are reported okay. So are the tanker's crew members. The ship suffered structural damage to her bow and awaits inspection. According to the line, the damages have to be repaired before Celestyal Crystal can continue with her scheduled itineraries.

Passengers are being offered plenty of options, including a 2-night hotel stay in Istanbul, transfer home, joining another cruise ship from the company and free shore excursions. 

All travelers will be fully refunded and can benefit from a complimentary voyage, until the end of 2016.
