Voyages to Antiquity Drops Caribbean Program

The destination-led, small ship cruise line, Voyages to Antiquity, announced it was to cancel its Cuba and Caribbean program for the winter.

According to the Cambridge MD-based company, recent natural disasters and US government travel advisory warning US citizens against travel to Cuba, had a negative impact on bookings. As a result the company decided to cancel winter season.

Unless the line can find a charter where the vessel can be used as a relief ship in the hurricane-struck isles, an unlikely event, it seems that Voyages to Antiquity only ship, the 350-passenger Aegean Odyssey, will be laid up at the end of this season in November.

The ship is then due to commence 2018 Med season in late-April.
