A new cruise ship terminal will be opened at port of Lisbon next week, following a US$28 million investment and 2-year construction by Global Ports Holding.

The brand new terminal has been a major element of recent development in the port city, awarded ‘Best City’ in Wallpaper Magazine Design Awards 2017. The cruise terminal won ‘Best Rehabilitation Urban project’ at SIL Portuguese Real Estate Fair 2017.

The new terminal covers around 13,800 m2 (148,540 ft2) over 3 floors. It will provide about 1,500 m (4,920 ft) of pier to cater for a variety of ships. The terminal will feature a couple of fully-automated gangway systems and on-site equipment, such as cranes and forklift trucks able to supply ships with water supplies, provisions and check-in facilities, while in dock.
