Tallinn Boasts Record Cruise Season 2017

During 2017 cruise season cruise ships visited Tallinn 311 times and brought the record-breaking number of 564,280 cruisers to the port city. Saaremaa Harbour had five cruise ship calls with 1,513 passengers.

On October 30, Port of Tallinn along with clients and partners of Estonian cruise industry gathered at the newly opened Film Museum to sum up 2017 cruise season and discuss their future plans.

Cruise ships of AIDA Cruises called Estonia the most (40 times), ships of Viking Cruises called 24 times and cruise ships of Royal Caribbean 21 times. Altogether 16 cruise companies brought cruisers to Estonia.

342 cruise calls to Tallinn and 11 cruise calls to Saaremaa are expected in 2018, bringing to Estonia around 580,000 cruise tourists.

To improve passenger’s experience, Port of Tallinn started to develop Old City Harbour area according to Masterplan 2030. It is planning to build an innovative green cruise terminal.
