Carnival Cruise Line announced that it will expand its capacity on short cruise offerings out of New Orleans beginning 2019.

Carnival Valor will reposition to New Orleans to start year-round 4- and 5-day voyages from the Big Easy starting May 2019. It will be the biggest ship to offer year-round short cruise schedule from the port.

On this route, 4-day long weekend cruises depart on Thursdays and call at Cozumel, while 5-day sailings depart Mondays and Saturdays visiting Cozumel and Progreso.

Carnival Valor will kick off her new year-round schedule of 4- and 5-day cruises from New Orleans on May 16, 2019, replacing Carnival Triumph and also representing an almost 10% increase in capacity on line's short cruise program from the port.

Carnival Triumph's new homeport will be announced at a later date.
