MSC Cruises announced that it was suspending scheduled port calls in Tunisia for the upcoming 2015-2016 winter season.

The winter schedule of MSC Preziosa will be modified for the period between November 15, 2015 and April 23, 2016 in order to reflect the suspension of the visits in the Tunisian capital. Calls at Valletta, Malta will replace calls at La Goulette, Tunis.

Additionally, the decision will affect the itineraries scheduled previously with MSC Poesia and MSC Magnifica during their Grand Voyages out of Venice to Buenos Aires in Argentina, and Santos in Brazil, respectively, in the end of 2015. Both vessels will spend a full day at port in Alicante, Spain, replacing La Goulette.

The suspension of Tunisian calls for the upcoming 2015-2016 winter is connected with the today-announced declaration by the Tunisian authorities of a state of emergency. The prime minister of Tunisia said that additional plots, aimed at "massive deaths," were in the works

Over 60 tourists to Tunisia died in the two attacks during the past three months.
