Passenger Medevaced From Carnival Cruise Ship

A man had to be medevaced from Carnival Spirit, off the North Coast, in serious condition.

Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter reported around 4:00 p.m. yesterday, December 11, that it had successfully winch-recovered a 32-year-old passenger from the Carnival cruise liner 50 nautical miles off the coast of Wooli.

The patient was flown for further treatment to Gold Coast University Hospital.

According to the helicopter service the man ‘had suffered a serious medical condition that required immediate medical evacuation’.

The current condition of the passenger is unknown.
