Passenger Medevaced From Carnival Dream

The Coast Guard has medevaced a passenger from a Carnival cruise ship on Saturday, December 16, about 170 nm southeast of South West Pass, Louisiana. 

A call was received by Coast Guard Sector New Orleans at 8:00 a.m from the Carnival Dream cruise ship that a 17-year old man had suffered a seizure.

The Coast Guard launched HC-144 Ocean Sentry and a helicopter with aircrew onboard both aircraft. 

Around 12:30 p.m. the aircrews arrived at the scene. The helicopter crew took the teenaged passenger, his mother, and the cruise nurse to New Orleans' University Medical Center.
