Viking Celebrates Its First World Cruise

Viking Ocean Cruises celebrated the kickoff of line's inaugural World Cruise on Friday, December 15, onboard its 4th and newest ship, Viking Sun, welcoming passengers in Miami for the sold out 140-night itinerary.

Viking Sun will nearly spend the next 5 months on the World Cruise, spanning 5 continents, 35 different countries and 64 cruise ports. During the journey from Miami to London, passengers will first explore the Caribbean and Cuba, before cruising Panama Canal to visit Los Angeles, the home of the U.S. headquarters of Viking and first West Coast call port.

Viking Sun will then head to the South Pacific, Australia and Asia, where she will be christened in Shanghai March 8, 2018. Then, Viking Sun will go on with ports of call in Asia and Europe, before finishing the World Voyage in London on May 5.

Viking Sun will continue sailing the globe during Viking’s World Cruise in 2019. The recently announced 128-day itinerary Miami-London, will visit 5 continents and immerse passengers in the rich cultures of 21 countries.
