Meyer Werft and Neptun Werft Unveil New Environment Technology

Meyer Werft and Neptun Werft saw continued further growth in their order books with new orders for cruise sector, according to the company's press release. In the long term Jobs are secure through to 2023. The customer base of the shipyard currently includes nearly all major cruise companies in the world.

In 2017, Meyer Werft set new standards in its branch especially in terms of environment technology. The new vessels of the shipyard, including AIDAnova, heralded the advent of LNG on the cruise market as environmentally friendly fuel for future of cruise liners.

With a total of 12 LNG ships on the order books, Meyer leads this cruise shipbuilding field. Intensive research is pursued into fuel cell technology as well as other technical innovations for passenger vessels.

In 2017, Meyer Werft in Papenburg delivered Norwegian Joy and World Dream. The Neptun Werft in Rostock-Warnemunde completed 2 boats for Viking River Cruises.
