Passenger Medevaced From AIDAcara

A passenger has been winched from AIDA Cruises ship in Torres Strait on Thursday, December 28.

According to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA), the patient had fallen "seriously ill."

Queensland Government helicopter Rescue 700 medevaced the passenger from AIDAcara cruise ship at about 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, before sending him/her to Thursday Island for treatment.

No other information has been disclosed.
