Limassol municipality is currently looking to rekindle the concern of cruise organisers for the port city to become a top cruise destination, according to the mayor Nicolaides who said that voyages to Marseilles and Haifa, due to take place in March and April 2016, were part of the effort.

This is a goal which is shared by DP World Limassol company, operating the multi-purpose terminal at the port.

Representatives of Cyprus Shipping Chamber and Mayor of Limassol Nikos Nicolaides held a meeting last week that focused on a number of related issues.

Limassol Mayor shared that cruises were a key component of the city's tourism, as well as of the revitalisation of the city centre and it was extremely important to render port Limassol a top cruise destination.

Nicolaides also talked about the possibility to add in-between stops at Greek islands in cruise schedules going to Haifa.
