Ferry Connecting Kentucky and Missouri Closes for Repair

A ferry connecting Kentucky and Missouri was temporarily halted while mechanical issues were addressed. According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Dorena-Hickman Ferry was expected to be closed for a couple of days.

In a news release the cabinet said that parts had been ordered but it could take a few days for parts' fabrication and delivery to complete the repairs.

The ferry links Kentucky 1354 at Hickman, Kentucky, with Missouri Route A & Route 77 close to Dorena, Missouri. It is situated at Mississippi River navigation milepoint 922.0 and is the only direct route between Missouri-Kentucky, that are the only border states not directly connected by a road.
