The Port Canaveral-based ship docked at Cruise Terminal 1 at 6 a.m. and departed on her next cruise at 4:30 p.m. U.S. Coast Guard inspected the vessel upon arrival.
On Wednesday (Jul 22), passengers aboard Freedom of the Seas were sent with life jackets to evacuation stations. One crew member was injured.
According to Royal Caribbean International, fire suppression equipment had quickly doused the blaze in the mechanical area of the ship as the Freedom arrived at the northern town of Falmouth. An emergency announcement had been made during breakfast, followed by alarms.
After the fire was extinguished, the 15-deck ship continued with her regular itinerary. The 1,112-ft Freedom of the Seas was in the middle of a 7-night cruise which departed Cape Canaveral on July 19, Sunday.
