Meyer Turku awarded Almaco Group the contract to supply galley equipment to the first LNG-powered ships of Costa Cruises. The vessels are due to be delivered in October 2020 (Costa Smeralda) and spring 2021 (Costa Toscana).

The contract marks a number of important milestones for the company, such as the return to Turku shipyard under Meyer Group, the largest galley equipment order for Almaco and the first newbuilding galley contract with Costa.

Almaco has worked closely with both Costa and Meyer Turku to reach "the highest-quality yet most cost-effective technical solutions." The optimized design and production processes of Almaco as well as a brand new tailor-made equipment factory have allowed lowering the cost but keep the top quality level the company is popular for.

Given the closeness of the yard and the largest office of Almaco in Turku Finland, the company invested in local project management in order to secure long-term support to the organization at Meyer Turku shipyard.

ALMACO features a similar organization to support the work of Meyer's shipyard in Papenburg Germany and the contract further enhances the strong relationship with the German shipbuilding group.
