Rouen’s season started in the middle of January with a visit by the Fred Olsen's cruise ship mv Balmoral and continues through December 11 with Christmas market calls.
Rouen is currently preparing for its Armada's 30th anniversary, coinciding with 75th anniversary of D-Day in 2019. Held every 5 years for 10 days, the very first event was held in 1989 and celebrated 200 years since the French Revolution.
More than 50 ships were welcomed during Rouen's last Armada and, in 2019, Azamara Journey, ms Deutschland and Marco Polo will be calling during the event. Cruise passengers from Le Havre and Honfleur will also be able to watch the spectacle.
