Seven 39-meter Incat Crowther designed catamaran fast ferries currently on order for Singapore operator Majestic Fast Ferry Pte Ltd. will be powered by a couple of MTU 16V 2000 M72 engines.
The ferry boats are being constructed at PT Cahaya shipyard (Batam, Indonesia) over the next 2 years and Rolls-Royce will supply 14 MTU engines for the ships by 2019.
This latest order follows an earlier one that saw MTU deliver six MTU Series 2000 engines in 2016-2017 for 3 earlier Majestic ships of the same class. The first one, Majestic Dream, went into service last in summer 2017, followed by Majestic Pride during fall. The 3rd ship, Majestic Faith is due to join from April 2018.
