Carnival Cruise Line and partner company Dr. Seuss Enterprises soon teamed up to celebrate the release of the brand new Dr. Seuss book, "What Pet Should I Get?". The special celebrity book readings feature Angela Hill, local broadcasting legend, aboard Carnival Dream in New Orleans and Evan Longoria, Tampa Bay Rays star, aboard Carnival Paradise in Tampa

In conjunction with the celebrity event, Carnival matches Longoria's donation of USD $100 to Pet Pal Animal Shelter for each home run he hits during 2015 season. Carnival Cruise Line is also donating money to Tampa Bay and Louisiana chapters of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

According to Carnival's president, Christine Duffy, Carnival was the number one line for families and they were delighted to team up with Dr.Seuss Enterprises to bring joy of reading to children with the special presentations in New Orleans and Tampa, while supporting animal rescue organizations. She added that kids had been thrilled to have been treated to a reading of Dr. Seuss first new book in 25 years

Surrounded by rescue dogs from SPCA and putting on Dr. Seuss' striped hat, Hill and Longoria delighted kids with readings of "What Pet Should I Get?", based on an original manuscript accompanying sketches made by Dr. Seuss, aka Ted Geisel, discovered in La Jolla, California, home of the late children's author.

Children and their companions joined Sam I am, The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 for the popular Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast of Carnival with The Cat in the Hat and Friends, all part of line's exclusive program Seuss at Sea.

Launched in 2014, Dr. Seuss program is featured fleetwide with family, youth, entertainment and dining experiences inspired by the fascinating tale world.

Seuss at Sea program includes fun activities, such as Story Time and Seuss-a-palooza Parade, as well as Dr. Seuss toys, games, popular movies and character interactions.
