Viking Cruises Announces Ocean & River Combination Voyages 2019

Viking Cruises announced Ocean and River Voyages (B2B / back-to-back cruises) for 2019, providing customers with the opportunity to explore the legendary rivers of Europe onboard line's award-winning 190-passenger Viking Longships prior to setting sail to Scandinavia onboard one of Viking's 930-passenger ocean ships.

Debuting May 2019, Grand European & Viking Fjords itinerary sails from Budapest to Bergen, and combines Viking's well-known 15-day Grand European Tour itinerary on Danube and Rhine Rivers between Budapest and Amsterdam with an 8-day Viking Shores & Fjords ocean itinerary, sailing the North Sea, between Amsterdam and Bergen.

In 2019 the cruise line will also feature additional departures of the 15-day combination itinerary Rhine & Viking Shores & Fjords, debuting June 2018 and sailing between Basel and Bergen.

Starting June 2018, the first two combination cruises of Viking set sail. 

  • "Grand European and Viking Fjords" (22-day Budapest-Bergen; May 26, June 2, 2019) visits 6 countries and 19 ports. Passengers sail along Danube into Wachau Valley in Austria and pause to explore historic German castles along Rhine River. In Amsterdam, they are able to experience Holland's windmills before boarding the Viking Ocean liners towards multiple Norwegian ports. The combo itinerary is also available on the reverse route. Prices start from USD 8,750 pp (double occupancy).
  • "Rhine and Viking Shores and Fjords" (15-day Basel-Bergen; June 30, 2018; June 2, 2019) visits 6 countries and 15 ports. In Amsterdam, passengers are transferred to a Viking Ocean ship and continue in North Sea to Skagen, before sailing through Norway's fjords and disembarking in Bergen. The combo itinerary is also available in the reverse route. Prices start from USD 6,350 pp (double occupancy).
