The P&O Cruises Grand-class ship Ventura completed a 2-week drydocking at Damen Shiprepair Brest. This was the first visit of the vessel to the shipyard, where she underwent regular docking along with a range of maintenance works.

The maintenance programme included such major features as the installation of a couple of exhaust gas scrubbers, for which DSBr (Damen Shiprepair Brest) designed, produced and installed a sea chest.

During the stay of Ventura in DSBr’s largest, Drydock #3, her hull was ultra-high-pressure water blasted. Then, along with the ship's superstructure, it was repainted. Additional works consisted of maintenance of the stabilisers and propulsion systems, plus other minor repairs.

Completing the works within scheduled period was critical with P&O Ventura due to depart Southampton UK on March 28 on a 12-day trip to the Canaries and Lisbon. The ship departed DSBr on March 26, with all works finished, in top shape for her 1,220 crew and 3,574 passengers.
