American Cruise Lines soon announced that its first newbuild of 2018, the American Constitution ship, had successfully passed Sea Trials in Chesapeake Bay.

With the U.S.C.G. (United States Coast Guard) aboard, the vessel underwent speed trials, endurance run, and was tested in all areas of maneuverability and safety.

The advanced features of American Constitution include new acoustical treatments and vibration dampening systems throughout, which make the ship extremely quiet even when sailing at full speed.

Now that the ship’s sea trials are completed, the cruise line commenced the inaugural cruise of American Constitution from Baltimore on Wednesday, April 18.

The first cruise is also the first American Revolution Cruise of the line, a new 10-night itinerary around Chesapeake Bay which features ports central to the nation’s history.

For the remainder of the year, the newbuild will stay on the East Coast, running a series of voyages in summer and fall out of Boston and New York.
