Captain of P&O Cruises Ship Sued by the French Court

The Captain of P&O Cruises ship Azura is being sued by the French Court.

He is to appear in criminal court for "violating fuel standards" during vessel’s call at Marseille on March 29, 2018.

The cruise ship used heavy fuel oil with 1,68% of sulfur, which exceeds the 1.5% limit.

The Captain is to be arrested when P&O Azura will call the French port next time and will face a 1-year imprisonment along with EUR 200,000 fine. The captain has already admitted the “crime”.
