Yesterday, August 10, Crystal Cruises unveiled detailed plans for two Crystal river yachts, to be launched in Europe starting late March 2017.

Following last month’s announcement on line's expansion, the new series of ships will feature a yacht-like design, larger accommodations and the highest in industry space-to-guest ratio, according to a company release.

Crystal’s all-inclusive, signature 6-star service is added by a fresh approach to traditional river experiences.

According to Crystal President & CEO Edie Rodriguez, Crystal continued to listen to what the luxury traveler and their guests wanted. He added that river cruises were a natural extension of line's exceptional ocean cruises, offered for the past 25 years.

The new 70-suite river yachts will be constructed by Lloyd Werft shipyard, Germany. The highlights include: two 500-sq.ft Penthouse Suites with added conveniences; 250-sq.ft suites with American king size beds, walk-in wardrobes and bathrooms with double vanities; spacious public areas, such as Palm Court with glass domed roof, dance floor, a well-appointed spa and fitness center.

Crystal River Cruises' itineraries, prices and bookings will be available starting December 1, 2015.

The new river ships will deploy itineraries maximizing time in ports fo call for meaningful shore excursions and experiences.

The line will dedicate a part of each voyage to sailing along the most picturesque rivers in Europe during daytime hours, including destinations such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Holland, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Croatia, Romania and Bulgaria.

Rodriguez shared that the beauty of river cruising was not only that vacationers enjoyed close-up access to fascinating inland locales. It was also that rivers themselves were coveted destinations which should not be overlooked.
