Windstar doubled the number of Concierge Collection shore trips in 2018. Passengers now benefit from a total of 90 shore excursions to choose from.
Concierge Collection offerings are actually small group experiences that range in size between 12-16 passengers. They are designed to offer a taste of different cultures and local life. Sample activities include a flight over the vineyards of Medoc Valley in Bordeaux, a lunch and olive oil tasting with Maitre d’Hotel of Splendido Hotel in Portofino, and halibut fishing off Icy Strait Point.
Many of the 44 Concierge Collection tours for this year involve culinary experience, while others focus on nature and the environment.
Highlights of the new shore excursions for summer and early fall include a polar flight to Grimsey Island from Akureyri. Also new is a cooking class at Blue Door Hotel in Tangier. In Tromso guests can take part in Huskey Hike from Tromso Wilderness Camp. In Portimao, the Concierge Collection offering includes Bottle Blending Workshop and Winemaker Experience. An overnight romance package is available in Bora Bora at an exciting overwater bungalow at Pearl Beach.
