Silversea Cruises launched Grand Expeditions - longer, epic voyages including land adventures.

The luxury expedition line promoted five, once-in-a-lifetime trips, ranging between 18 and 34 days to places such as Antarctica, Galapagos and Machu Picchu, starting in October.

Silversea Grand Expeditions start with an expedition cruise in Galapágos Islands, before enjoying a land adventure, and then connecting to another adventure sailing along the coast of Central and South America, or Antarctica.

These packages combine cruise prices for the luxury expedition vessels Silver Explorer and Silver Galapagos at 20% savings off the published individual rate, and also include land tours, hotel accommodations, return air travel between the Galápagos Islands and Ecuador, ground transportation, intra-tour air travel and charter flights to Ushuaia.

  • The 17-night “Latin American Delights” begins on October 1 and includes the Galapagos voyage, followed by an overnight in Guayaquil (post-cruise), and a flight to Panama from where to embark Silver Explorer for a cruise to Guayaquil from Colon.
  • The 24-night “South American Sojourn” departs on October 8 and includes the Galapagos cruise and a 2-night stay in Guayaquil before joining Silver Explorer for a sailing to Valparaiso, Chile.
  • The 22-night “Frigatebirds, Ice Fields and Fjords” starts on October 22 and includes an overnight in Guayaquil following the Galapagos voyage, a flight to and an overnight in Santiago, as well as a cruise to Ushuaia, departing from Valparaiso.
  • The 33-night “Conquer South America and Antarctica” trip begins on October 29. The similar 25-night “Southernmost South America” departs on November 26. After the Galápagos voyage, passengers will go on a 7-night land adventure including Iguazu Falls and Machu Picchu, before embarking the Silver Explorer in Ushuaia for a cruise to Antarctica.
