Passenger Medevaced from Majesty of the Seas

The Coast Guard has airlifted a 39-year-old passenger Rushan Pain from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship about 8 miles south of Port Tampa Bay, on June 7.

Coast Guard Sector Saint Petersburg Command Center watchstanders received a cell phone call at about 4:39 p.m. from a crew member aboard Majesty of the Seas reporting a passenger suffering from chest pains who needed advanced medical attention.

A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium boat crew was launched from Coast Guard Station Saint Petersburg.

The boat crew arrived on the scene at about 5:22 p.m. and transferred the man to RBM. The rescue crew took him to Station Saint Petersburg where awaiting emergency medical services transported the passenger to Bayfront Health for further care.
