The Leader in Polar Adventures, Quark Expeditions, signed an agreement with Brodosplit Croatia to build a new expedition cruise ship designed for operation in polar regions.

Due to launch in 2020, the 200-guest ship, designed by LMG Marin via cooperation with Quark Expeditions, will feature unparalleled expeditionary capability and adventure options.

At more than 13,000GT, the new ship is expected to optimize expedition experience with a blend of operational, personal and public space. To make the best off-ship experience and allow for faster landings, 20 zodiacs will be deployable from an internal zodiac hangar with four embarkation points.

The ship also boasts 2 simultaneously operable helidecks for heli-skiing, flightseeing, and to access places remote for Zodiacs. Onboard, passengers will relax in spacious staterooms, eat at gourmet restaurants and relax at modern spa and fitness facilities.

Incorporating an array of safety systems, the vessel will feature 13 fully redundant critical systems, a fully operational emergency bridge and twin propellers powered by four engines in two separate engine rooms. All expedition operations are due to be run by expedition staff trained by Quark Academy.
