B.C. Ferry Ship Stuck in Prince Rupert Terminal

   July 2, 2018 ,   Accidents

The BC FERRIES ship Northern Adventure (formerly Korais) experienced mechanical problems and was stuck in Prince Rupert terminal Sunday morning (July 1).

The ferry was not able to leave at its scheduled 10 am PT departure time to Skidegate, because of an issue with the fire detection system of the boat.

The company said the ship would remain docked until "a piece of equipment is located to fix the problem" as it needed a specialist from Miami FL to come attend to the ferry.

BC Ferries is working with clients on a case-by-case basis and announced it would try to rebook them on future cruises when the problem was resolved.
