Seabourn Announces Letter of Intent for 2 Ultra-Luxury Expedition Ships

Seabourn announced it had signed a Letter of Intent for the building of two new ultra-luxury expedition vessels with new partnership between shipbuilders Damen and T.Mariotti, who will collaborate on the construction under the name MARIOTTI DAMEN Cruise.

The newbuilds will boast a new innovative design, specifically created for the ultra-luxury expedition cruiser, and will include many features that made Seabourn ships successful as well as unique features designed to enhance expedition experience. The first delivery is scheduled for June 2021 and the 2nd ship is expected in May 2022.

The 23,000 GT, 170-meter ships will add capacity for Seabourn in the Arctic, Antarctica, and other exotic destinations while meeting PC6 Polar Class standards. The newbuilds will have 132 luxurious oceanfront veranda suites, able to accommodate up to 264 passengers.

A new offering will be 2 submarines carried aboard, providing a view of the world beneath the surface of the ocean. The ships will be designed to carry kayaks and 24 Zodiacs, which have operated as a part of Ventures by Seabourn program offered in select cruise destinations around the globe.

Seabourn will announce details for its new vessels later this year. The first ship is planned to sail in the Arctic late summer 2021, with the following winter season in Antarctica.
