Passenger Medevaced From Carnival Vista

An 89-year-old man suffering stroke symptoms was medevaced from a Carnival cruiser Monday evening, July 9, according to the US Coast Guard (USCG).

At 1:30 p.m. a call from the Carnival Vista cruise ship brought MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater to the vessel, which was 138 mi west of Great Inagua, Bahamas.

The passenger, suffering from chest pains, was taken to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Turks and Caicos at around 6:45 p.m., accompanied by a nurse.

Carnival Vista was on her way from Port Miami to Ocho Rios during a cruise around the Caribbean which began on Sunday, July 8, and will end on Saturday, July 14.
