Cunard Announces 2017 Full World Voyages

Today, August 27, Cunard revealed its Exotic Cruises & Full World Voyages 2017 Programme, inviting cruisers to embrace new frontiers in the magnificent style of Cunard. On sale starting September 10 (September 9 for World Club guests), the programme boasts 3 World & Exotic Cruises (with options ranging from 3 to 132 nights) and will offer 80 unique ports of call in 42 countries and 15 maiden calls, 5 of which new to the fleet.

The 2017 programme of Cunard will include the first Full World Voyage of Queen Mary 2, following an extensive 25-day dry dock refurb at Blohm+Voss Shipyard, Hamburg (Germany). Cunard passengers will enjoy new design and experiences reflecting the changing needs of passengers today: 30 additional Britannia Club Balcony and 15 Single staterooms, as well as an expansion to ship's dedicated kennels. A host of additional innovations is to be announced in the coming months.

The first ever 132-night round trip from NYC voyage onboard Queen Mary 2 will feature 40 ports in 23 countries (more than 37,000 nautical miles), 33 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 11 late evening departures, 9 maiden calls and 3 overnight stays. It departs New York City on January 3, 2017, and will travel to Southampton, South Africa, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Arabia and Europe, via the Suez Canal; heading back to Southampton and NYC. Overnight stays include Cape Town, Dubai and Singapore.

Maiden calls will include: Kangaroo Island, Le Port, Hobart, Bandar Seri Begawan, Keelung, Jeju Island, Busan, and two firsts for Cunard fleet – Port Arthur and Busselton in Australia.

This cruise will also offer passengers the opportunity to benefit from late evening departures in: Melbourne and Sydney, Australia; Port Elizabeth, South Africa; Hong Kong, China; Jeju Island, South Korea; Keelung, Taiwan; Shanghai, China; Aqaba, Jordan and Safaga, Egypt.

Queen Mary 2's 2017 Full World Voyages include:

  • 132-night round trip from New York City, prices start at $22,400;
  • 118-night round trip from Southampton, prices start at $20,000;
  • 108-night from Cape Town to New York, prices start at $18,300.

Queen Victoria's South America & Australia 120-night Full World Voyage will sail over 41,000 nautical miles and will visit 32 ports in 17 different countries, 11 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with 4 late evening departures, 3 overnight stays and 2 maiden calls.

Queen Victoria will sail through the Strait of Magellan deep into Chilean fjords, continuing along Amazon River. This 5-night exploration will  be a first for Cunard fleet. It will also break the record for "the largest cruise ship ever to transit the Amazon". Firsts for the brand are also Queen Victoria's maiden calls at Santarem and to Manaus in Brazil.

Following South America, QV will cross the South Pacific, sailing past Easter and Pitcairn Islands before calling at Polynesia en route to Australia and New Zealand. Guests on ship's return journey will transit the Panama Canal up to Florida, Bermuda and Aruba, and then back to the UK.

Other highlights of the voyage include: overnight stays in Fort Lauderdale and San Francisco, USA; Sydney, Australia; as well as late evening departures in Rio de Janeiro, Auckland, Charleston and Manaus.

Queen Victoria's 2017 Full World Voyages include:

  • 120-night round trip from Southampton, prices start at $20,000;
  • 95-night round trip from Fort Lauderdale, prices start at $15,850.

Cunard Queen Elizabeth will offer a classic world voyage: 120-night westbound circumnavigation featuring a Panama Canal transit. The voyage will deliver world's most iconic cityscapes and breathtaking views of Sydney Opera House and Golden Gate Bridge. Queen Elizabeth will sail more than 39,000 nautical miles, visit 39 ports in 25 countries, 29 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and feature 9 late evening departures, 4 overnight stays, and 4 maiden calls.

Guests onboard Queen Elizabeth will have the chance to choose between New York, San Francisco and Fort Lauderdale as a US departure port, and will also be able to choose an adding on Queen Mary 2 Transatlantic Crossing to return in New York.

The maiden calls of Queen Elizabeth will feature: Port Victoria, Seychelles; Huatulco, Mexico; St. Vincent, Cape Verde Islands; and a first for the fleet - Alotau, Papua New Guinea.

Additional highlights of the Full World Voyage include: cruising through Kanmon Straits and Inland Sea of Japan, as well as overnight stays in San Francisco, New York, Cape Town and Sydney. Late night departures are offered in Honolulu, Auckland, Busan, Hiroshima, Kobe, Shanghai, Port Victoria, Port Louis, Port Elizabeth.
