Princess Cruises launched its Luxury Bed for the first time in Asia on its Asia Sleep Tour featuring the sleep doctor Dr.Michael Breus, the designer of The Princess Luxury Bed to give passengers the best sleep at sea.

The first stop of the tour, Singapore, is where Dr.Breus was invited to showcase the bed to industry partners, travel agents, and selected past guests. The next stops of the tour include Jakarta, Tokyo and Shanghai.

Princess Luxury Bed is the first ever and the only bed onboard a cruise company designed by board-certified sleep doctor using the latest in sleep science, technology and research, and is a critical part of luxury travel experience provided by Princess. The Luxury Beds are part of line's US$450 million-dollar refurbishment that will continue to enhance Princess Cruises' onboard passenger experience.

During the tour, Dr.Breus shares insights into Princess Cruises Relaxation Report that included for the first time countries outside North America like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, China and Japan. The survey revealed how the majority of people aren't dedicating time for relaxation or sleep and use weekends to make up for the sleep lost during the week.

By 2019, over 45,000 Princess Luxury Beds are expected to be fully rolled out to more than 22,000 staterooms aboard all 17 Princess ships. The Luxury Bed is currently available on 14 vessels with Diamond Princess getting Luxury Beds fitted by the end of August. Regal Princess and Royal Princess will have theirs beds fitted in 2019.
