The keel laying ceremony of Seabourn Encore, the first ultra-luxury ship of a duo that Fincantieri Italy will build for Seabourn Cruise Line was held today, September 15, at Marghera shipyard.

Fincantieri was represented by Marghera’s yard manager, Antonio Quintano. The ceremony was also attended by Executive Vice President Holland America Group, Keith Taylor.

Seabourn Encore will join the fleet of Seabourn at the end of 2016. She will be built according to the technical solutions and standards that make the line one of the most prestigious brands in ultra-luxury cruise segment and will continue fleet’s modernization that started in 2009.

The all-suite 41,700 GT ship will be 210-metre long and 28-metre wide, able to reach a speed of 18.6 knots. The Encore will carry up to just 600 passengers, based on double occupancy. Each suite will feature a private balcony.
