AIDA is all fired up for Hamburg”. The AIDA fleet will promote Olympia 2024 all over the world. New York, New Orleans and Montreal are just three of more than 180 destinations where the ten ships of AIDA will be promoting Hamburg as the 2014 Olympic Games venue. The slogan “AIDA is all fired up for Hamburg” will be seen on highly visible flags waved onboard AIDA vessels from now on.

On Monday (October 5) Felix Eichhorn, AIDA President, presented the first flag to David Adrian, AIDAbella captain. The event was attended by rower Can Tempel and hockey player Eileen Hoffmann from “Team Hamburg 2016”, also sponsored by AIDA Cruises.

Eichhorn shared that Hamburg has always been a home port for AIDA. That was the reason why they energetically supported "the Hanseatic City’s bid to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games".

The leading German company operates one of the most eco-friendly cruise fleets in the world. AIDA Cruises has equipped its vessels for onshore power and the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and introduced innovative concepts for supplying ships at the port of Hamburg with eco-friendly power. The new AIDA ships, expected to enter service in 2019 and 2020, will make AIDA Cruises the first cruise line to operate new vessel generation entirely with LNG, thus completely eliminating emissions from sulfur oxides and soot particles.
