In February 2016 Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas will emerge from drydock with several waterslides, including the first-at-sea boomerang-style feature propelling riders to almost vertical, where they will have a moment to feel almost weightless.

The waterslide zone, dubbed The Perfect Storm, will also include two racer slides called Cyclone and Typhoon; they'll be located at the back of the ship near the Flowrider surf simulator. Kids are also getting an adult-free area called Splashaway Bay - which includes water cannons and geysers.

Passengers will also see two new restaurants onboard: Mexican eatery Sabor and Italian trattoria Giovanni's Table - two Royal Caribbean mainstays. R Bar, another popular cruise line watering hole, also will be added.

79 new cabins will be added, including 26 Panoramic Ocean View cabins, which will feature floor-to-ceiling windows for unobstructed ocean views. The other 53 cabins will be added to various categories throughout the ship.

Launched in 2007, the 3,634-passenger Liberty of the Seas is part of Royal Caribbean's Freedom Class. It underwent a multimillion-dollar refurbishment in 2011, in which a nursery, outdoor movie screen and cupcake shop were added, among other items.
