Carnival to relax carry-on beverage policy

Carnival Cruise Lines passengers will now be able to bring onboard with them nonalcoholic beverages in ports of call, as long as these are in cartons or cans of 12 ounces or less. A limit of 12 cartons or cans per person will be enforced. Previously, passengers were allowed to carry beverages onto the ship in homeports only.

The change does not affect the line's ban on bottled nonalcoholic beverages, which was put in place in July in an effort to crack down on alcohol smuggling.

It also does not affect the line's alcohol policy, which states that alcohol purchased in port will be held for the duration of the sailing and returned to passengers on the morning of debarkation.
