Silversea has launched a new collections of specialty expedition cruises, each focused on activities such as photography, birding, gastronomy, scuba diving and wellness.

Offered on select sailing dates, the specialty expedition voyages are available variously on the line’s three smaller expedition ships, Silver Discoverer, Silver Explorer and Silver Galapagos.

According to Silversea's senior vice president Kristian Anderson, these specialty expeditions enabled travelers to leverage their personal interests and passions to experience a more meaningful voyage of discovery.

Photography Expedition Cruises: These include photo walks, workshops and onboard lectures with a professional photographer aimed to help the passengers of Silver Discoverer and Silver Explorer to get the best out of the photography equipment.

Birding & Ornithology Expedition Cruises: From spotting Alaska’s bald eagles to witnessing the Galapagos’ blue-footed boobies, these itineraries sail on Silver Galapagos, Silver Discoverer and Silver Explorer.

Culinary Expedition Cruises: These expedition voyages aboard Silver Explorer provide an array of culinary events ashore and onboard, in addition to explorations of the cultural, historic and natural landmarks visited along the way.

Diving Expedition Cruises: The scuba diving program is led by expedition team and divemasters onboard Silver Discoverer and will highlight the underwater world of Micronesia, Melanesia, Polynesia and Indonesia.

Wellness Expedition Cruises: Silversea passengers can improve their well-being aboard Silver Discoverer while sailing to destinations in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia. The wellness specialists host a program of fitness training, including Pilates, yoga and stretching. Other highlights include cooking demonstrations and daily lectures focused on balanced nutrition, plus complimentary spa massage treatments.

Silversea announced it has developed mini-brochures describing the new program and offering a calendar with the sailing dates. The six brochures are available as digital flip books or in print format. They can be downloaded at
