ALMACO will add 13 crew cabins on Anthem of the Seas, with the same number on Quantum. The work will be carried out during the next 3 months, commencing with the first cruise vessel during November and December, and followed in January 2016 by Quantum of the Seas. Earlier in 2015 ALMACO added 17 crew cabins apiece in June and July.

The modernization team of ALMACO sailed onboard the Royal Caribbean International (RCI) ships to perform "turnkey" deliveries of the cabins. The scope of work involved the dismantling of the crew-dedicated Windjammer, assembly of the 17 new rooms, new corridors, electrical and piping works.

‘The team faced several technical and scheduling challenges with back-to-back projects that had practically overlapping timelines,’ said the project manager Tommi Virta.

‘The work was carried out while the ship was sailing with guests, which was a challenge as the guest experience could not be impacted. Moreover, there was limited space for material storage.
