Royal Caribbean International (RCI) laid the keel of its 4th Oasis-class ship yesterday (October 29) at STX Shipyard in St. Nazaire, France.

During the ceremony, a 32-ft by 154-ft (10 x 47 m), 1,000-ton block was lifted by crane into shipyard's building dock. Newly minted coins were put under the keel and will stay there until the end of ship’s construction. Once the new vessel is near to completion, the coins will be retrieved and presented to the Captain and crew to be placed on board the ship.

Still unnamed, the fourth Oasis-class RCI ship is scheduled for delivery in spring 2017.
