Crystal Cruises confirmed the purchase of a Boeing 777 to operate for the newest luxury holiday brand Crystal Luxury Air as it doubles planned fleet size.
The twin-aisle 777 will be reconfigured to carry just 88 passengers instead of 300 with flat-bed first class seats and a lounge and bar. The aircraft will offer 14 and 28-day around-the-world and international itineraries from 2017.
The 777 is in addition to the company’s plans to introduce a 787 Dreamliner.
As well as doubling the initial air projections with the expanded aircraft fleet, Crystal is to work with the Registry of Aruba in securing an Air Operator’s Certificate to pave the way for Crystal Luxury Air to start international operations.
Trips will include stays at the world’s most luxurious hotels, Michelin star-level cuisine and local cultural entertainment.
