Last Wednesday night Costa neoRomantica sustained damage after encountering high winds and rough weather.

A newspaper in Italy reported that the neoRomantica ship was hit by 7-meter high waves raised by gusts of wind exceeding 125 kph.

Costa neoRomantica was sailing from Trapani to Marseille, but because of the storm, the ship had to drop one of its anchors and skip the Marseille port. Then neoRomantica docked in Savona and Costa used buses to transport passengers to Marseilles.

Many cabins on board the ship were flooded with water. There was a black-out and loss of power during the storm. Costa guests were much frightened and some of them had to stay in the hallways.
