According to a company spokeswoman, the captain had reduced speed for the safety of passengers. The 63,786 GT cruise ship which was due to berth at 7 a.m. had arrived shortly before she was due to sail at 4 p.m.
Pacific Pearl was due to sail at 10 p.m. on Friday on a 3-night ‘food and wine’ cruise to nowhere, returning Monday morning.
Outgoing passengers will be compensated for the delay. Those over the age of 13 will receive a A$100 shipboard credit. There is also a A$50 credit for the 12-year-olds and under.
