Pacific Eden with a Maiden Call at Eden

Despite the late departure from Sydney this Saturday, Pacific Eden made up time and arrived at her namesake port on Sunday, as scheduled.

P&O Cruises Australia ship’s arrival in Sydney was delayed by several hours because of a low pressure trough which affected the east coast of Australia. The 55,820 GT ship encountered a heavy swell and strong winds, and speed was reduced for the safety of passengers.

Sture Myrmell, company president, said that the 1,500-passenger ship had received a warm welcome from Eden's people. The port town is situated on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales. He added that the passengers had visited Killer Whale Museum, local oyster farms and boutiques.

Pacific Eden is on an 8-night ‘Secrets of the South’ round-trip voyage. Today (January 12), the ship will make a maiden call at Mornington Peninsula, southeast of Melbourne, and another maiden call on Wednesday at Portland, the oldest European settlement in Victoria. Before returning to Sydney, Eden will visit Kangaroo Island.
