Anegada Island is BVI's northernmost island and part of an archipelago forming part Virgin Islands (USVI and BVI). The island is approx 24 km (15 mi) north of Virgin Gorda Island. It is also BVI's only island formed from coral and limestone, and not from volcanic activities. While the other BVI (British Virgin Islands) are mountainous, Anegada is flat, with the highest elevation 8,5 m (28 ft) above sea level.

The island has total land area approx 38 km (15 mi2), ranking it BVI's second-largest (after Tortola). However, by population (under 300) it is also BVI's most sparsely populated. Most of the locals live in The Settlement - Anegada's only village.

Anegada Island is best-known for its long white-sand beaches. Horseshoe Reef (length 29 km / 18 mi) is ranked the Caribbean's largest and world's 4th largest barrier coral reef. However, Horseshoe Reef seriously hampers the island's access by sea, causing hundreds of shipwrecks and boat groundings. To protect it, BVI forbids anchoring on the reef.

The island's economy is based on tourism (with an average of 200 visitors per day during peak season) and commercial fishing (providing most of BVI's fresh fish and lobsters). Anegada can be accessed via Auguste George Airport (on the island, charter flights link to Tortola, Virgin Gorda, and St Thomas USVI), ferries (thrice-weekly service) and chartered boats. Charter flights also connect Anegada with Antigua and St Maarten.
