  Port Map

Crinan (An Crìonan) is a port and village on Scotland's west coast (Knapdale region) and part of Argyll and Bute (one of Scotland's 32 authority council areas). Before the Crinan Canal (opened in 1801) the village was named Port Righ (king's port). The 14 km (9 mi) long Crinan Canal links Loch Gilp (Ardrishaig sea lock) and Sound of Jura (Crinan sea lock). On the Crinan Canal were built a total of 15 sea locks and 14 bridges (including 6 swing and 1 retractable). The stone material for the locks was shipped here from the Isle of MullIsle of Arran and Morvern Peninsula.

As leisure infrastructure, Crinan offers a harbour (cruise and ferry port), hotel, coffee shop, post office, Boatyard (commercial fishing and private boat/yacht services and facilities). Most of the local economy is based on scallop farming.
