Culebra Bay (officially Bahia Culebra) is located to the north of Gulf of Papagayo, Costa Rica. Culebra Bay attracts tourists with its premium accommodations, exquisite: white-sand beaches and warm and placid waters, ranking it among the perfect destinations for snorkeling, scuba diving, sport fishing, swimming.
- Gulf of Papagayo (translated "gulf of the parrot") is in the Costa Rica's northwestern coast. Among the most popular tourist destinations (resort destinations) in the gulf are Ocotal Beach, Playas del Coco, Playa Hermosa, Playa Panama.
- The Papagayo Project is one of the Central America's largest resort tourism development projects ever. It is named after the gulf. Construction works started in 1993 with the government's approval. The destination is often referred to as "mini-Cancun".
- Costa Rican national parks located within close proximity to Bahia Culebra are Santa Rosa National Park, Rincon de la Vieja National Park and Palo Verde National Park. They can be visited on a day-long excursions.
- Culebra Bay is served by the Daniel Oduber Quiros Airport located in Liberia - capital and largest city of the province Guanacaste. Bus travel from San Jose (country's capital city) is about 5 hours. Buses from both San Jose and Liberia run daily.
