Edfu (aka Idfu) is a Nile River cruise port in Egypt. The city is located between Aswan and Esna, and has a population of approx 60,000. Edfu is famous with the Temple of Horus and the Tell Edfu settlement. Remains of ancient pyramids are located about 5 km (3 ml) north of Idfu.
Facing towards the river, Edfu Temple of Horus was built from large sandstone blocks during the Cleopatra's reign. This is the Egypt's most completely preserved temple.
